Turning everyday spaces into surprising encounters with AHA! Moments
A Cape Verdean band in a barbershop. A costume dance party in the street. A sauna tucked into an alleyway. For AHA! Night in New Bedford, we brought artists, businesses and unexpected experiences together to create AHA! Moments. We worked with the character of each place to give people something they wouldn’t expect to find there.
At Stepping Razor Barbershop, Harmony Band shared Cape Verdean music in an intimate setting, featured by WBSM. For the Earth Day Parade, we commissioned three giant jellyfish puppets by a local costume designer, Sydney L. Hawes. In October, we produced a costume dance party in the parking lot of Carter’s Clothing, right in the heart of downtown. At the Pour Farm Tavern patio, a Finnish-style sauna and cold plunge with Tranquil Tides along with a fire pit with Bierstacheln service from the bar created a cozy winter warm-up gathering. Each experience gave people an easy way to step into something unfamiliar, right in the middle of a night downtown.
